Carley Farm Information
Carley Elk Farms, LLC was established on September 11, 2001. In fact I was buying my first 2 bred cows when the towers were attacked. I was in Southern Indiana and was not able to get any service, my family couldn't get a hold of me to let me know about the tragic events that were occuring in the world. No one could predict what was going to happen next.
Our family had been looking for a way to somewhat live independently off the land we own and with my passion for hunting, "elk" farming seemed to be the perfect fit for our family. My wife Angie, our two children, Danielle and Clayton and myself, are all active in the choosing, raising, and handling of the elk.
The elk herd is about 30 strong and still growing. We have 4 bottle fed elk that are very people friendly! We have James, our 9 yr old bull elk, Emmy, and Indy Sam who was born on Memorial Day weekend last year and named after Indy race car winner, Sam Hornish Jr. Carley Elk Farm sponsors a free farm tour on Saturday, September 13, 2008.
In April, 2008 we started raising deer. We have 19 deer on our farm with 4 of them being bottled fed.
We welcome people to our farm for tours year round. Any size or age group is welcomed! Tours are $5 per person and need to be scheduled by appointment. This makes for a great field trip, youth group event, or just a family day out in the country. Included with your tour, you will get a guided hayride or ride on our Ranger around the farm, a sample of our elk snack stick, and a complimentary drink.
We even have a program where you can Rent-Our-Elk for your school or church function, or any special occassion! Please contact me, Cliff Carley directly for this request. Carley Elk Farm also offers elk meat, Velvet Antler, and other elk products at our store located in Elwood, Indiana, just 5 minutes from the farm. You can also check out our online store through this website to purchase any our products that you may want!
Thank you!
Sincerely,
The Carley's
